If you’re having a bad dream; don’t wake up “TAKE CONTROL”!
You’re driving a newer model vehicle on a steep grade 15 miles long (like a stretch of road on I-15 between Las Vegas and Barstow), the electronics go out, the wheel is locked, the vehicle has started spinning, it’s rotated 6 times already; don’t panic, stay calm, say aloud “I’m in control, it’s not time for me to die”.
Take a deep breath, in a calm voice tell the vehicle how beautiful it is, how a crash will make it look and feel bad, tell it to turn on so you can regain control and get you both home safely.
Miraculously the vehicle will start and right itself in the road and slow down so you can regain control. Gently steer off to the shoulder and rest for a few minutes.
Does it seem real enough to you?
It could happen if you believe it. Sometimes we think it’s easier to just wake up, relinquish control and let things happen but we all have free will and choices. The choices may seem few or nonexistent if you’re out of control in a tumultuous situation. Stop in the heat of the moment, center yourself for a second and make a decision.
Keep in mind though if your ticket is drawn you’ll eventually HAVE to go but you can still sprout wings and fly away to their destination by following where they lead. Even under those circumstances as long as you’re going you still have a choice; just ask anyone who’s been clinically dead for more than 5 minutes. Either it wasn’t their time or they chose to jump back in; SEE MORE CHOICES!
If you don’t think you’re good at making quick decisions, take time to practice this week. Go with your gut, confirm with your heart, keep track of what you decide and the outcomes value in your life. This works for the large and small alike.
It’s a skill worthy of perfecting that will come in handy later.
